The Northwest harvest’s Fruitvale Community Market has been around for almost 3 years, but if you never drive down Fruitvale, then you might not have seen it.

“People should be able to access food with respect, dignity, and individual agency. Northwest Harvest’s Fruitvale Community Market allows shoppers to do just that.”
Northwest Harvest.org.

This is a no-cost grocery store where the community can visit to get fresh produce, meats, ready-to-eat foods, and other food staples for the kitchen.

Information For The Northwest Harvest’s Fruitvale Community Market

The community market is located at 1819 Fruitvale Blvd. and is open three days a week.

  • Monday: 12 Noon to 6 pm (In-Store)
  • Wednesday: 9 am to 3 pm (In-Store)
  • Friday: 12 Noon to 6 pm (Drive-Thru)

This info is from their website, and when I drove by the community market on Wednesday at 11 am, it looked like it was drive-thru only. So keep that in mind before you head for a visit.

All in the community are welcome to visit. No ID, proof of residency, or income is required to shop there.

Don’t Ruin A Good Thing

This is a beautiful thing that Northwest Harvest has created here in the Yakima Valley. Please, be respectful and don’t abuse this great trust and generosity of (and for) the community.

To keep a great thing like this going, it takes a lot of work. If you’re able to donate to Northwest Harvest, even your time, it would be greatly appreciated. More information on the community market, and ways you can help, can be found at NorthWestHarvest.org.
