Chinook Fest Concert Report From Yakima Valley Brewmaster

My buddy AJ spent an entire week up there and had a blast, met a lot of new friends, and rocked out to some amazing music. He was kind enough to give us a concert report with some photos. Check it out below.

Chinook Fest 2026, in a word ‘Stupendiferous’

As i was talking with AJ he mentioned a word that he had first heard at Chinook Fest, and that word is Stupendiferous!

Stupendiferous is an adjective that dates back to the 15th century. Combining the Latin "stupendous" with the suffix "iferous". It can be used to describe an event so magnificently beautiful that it delights all the senses. It was shared with him by the lead vocalist of the band "Cody Beebe and the Crooks" when he asked him to describe Chinook Fest 2026 in one word.

AJ has a great way of getting to know the bands, and at Chinook Fest, it’s a real family environment. Talking with other members of the band, AJ shared insights from Ty Paxton, "The Crook's" harmonica player, or "The Harps," as is so affectionately named.

Ty’s description of the fourteen-year Nile Valley festival as "Unforgettable". It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that attendees and musicians alike will never forget. For its vast array of eclectic styles of music, food, games, and vendors. Possibly the most "unforgettable" are the campers, yoga enthusiasts, and attendees of the event at Jim Sprick Community Park each year.

AJ shared that Joe Catron, one of the fellow "Crooks", said it best when he gave HIS single-word descriptor of the four-day festival.

"I would say, ‘Countercultural’ in all the best ways; no devices, everyone acknowledges and engages with one another, no 24-hour news cycle, people from all walks of life and political allegiances come together and don’t just tolerate one another! They truly cherish the time spent with one another; it’s always such a drag to go back to the ‘real world’ the Monday after the fest."
- Joe Catron.

AJ Keagle’s Closing Thoughts On Chinook Fest 2026

I’ve had a long history of supporting this amazing event for the past 14 years. Meeting other vendors, selling my records, connecting with the local breweries, and the music. It is a thrill every year.
