California Police Respond to ‘Skin Bear’ Scare At AMPM
California police got a disturbing call recently when someone reported something that could be straight out of a horror movie.
What Happened at the California Gas Station?
Left abandoned in front of an AMPM IN Victorville, California, a grotesque teddy bear that appeared to be wrapped in human skin caused quite the alarm.
Luckily, as police crews surrounded and secured the area, they could get a closer look at the ''Buffalo Bear'' and took it into possession.
The Truth Behind the Disturbing Teddy Bear In California
According to the official press release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department:
"On Sunday, July 14, 2025, at approximately 12:07 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a suspicious circumstances call at the AMPM gas station on Bear Valley Road. Callers indicated a teddy bear made of what looked like human flesh was left in front of the business."
Thankfully, the bear was NOT made out of human remains, but appeared to be constructed of "man-made materials."
Who Made The Skin Bear That Scared California?
In an interesting turn, a company called Dark Seed Creations that specializes in "Horror culture and special effects" took credit for making the teddy bear (but had no idea about its placement outside the store), and even commented how one of their bears that is made with latex and is sold for $165 was recently purchased by someone in Victorville.
Was It a Crime or Just a Prank in California?
A 23-year old suspect who left the ‘skin bear’ was identified and charged with ‘causing the report of an emergency while knowing it to be false’ (PC 148.3(a) and ‘intentionally and wrongfully planting evidence to falsely present as real’ (PC 141), according to VVNG.com.
