Gas prices in Yakima have continued to fall for a sixth straight week, with an average price per gallon of $4.23, a decrease of 12.7 cents from the previous week.

PRICES CONTINUE TO FALL IN YAKIMA AND THE STATE

GasBuddy, which surveyed 91 stations in Yakima, revealed that the prices in the area are 62.4 cents per gallon lower than they were a month ago, and 31.1 cents lower than the same period last year. The average national price for gasoline has also fallen by 5.3 cents per gallon in a week, standing at $3.45 per gallon. The figure represents a drop of 36.3 cents per gallon in a month, and a fall of 27.4 cents compared to last year.

PRICES ARE DEPENDENT UPON WORLD POLITICS

Despite the continued decrease in prices, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, Patrick De Haan, said interruptions in the Middle East could slow or reverse the trend.

A SHORT DRIVE TO PUMP THE CHEAPEST GAS IN THE STATE

According to GasBuddy price reports, the cheapest station in Yakima is also the cheapest in the state at $3.55 per gallon at the Wolfden in Wapato.  The statewide average sits at $4.69 a gallon down from $4.79 last week.
