Is Travis Decker Dead or On the Run? Authorities Fear He’s Escaped
The search for a Washington father accused of killing his three young daughters is now entering it's 3rd week with no end in sight. So where is Travis Decker?
WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED?
Many people think the 32-year-old may be dead either the result of a suicide or an animal attack. Others, including law enforcement believe he's still on the run somewhere either in heavily-wooded Chelan or Kittitas counties. The experts say the fact he's been able to avoid arrest this long suggests Decker may have done extensive planning before the alleged murder of his three daughters.
IS HE IN CANADA OR KITTITAS?
Investigators say Decker might have been planning to flee to Canada, after recently revealing that he had conducted online searches for "how to relocate to Canada" and queried for internet job listings there only a few days before disappearing on May 30.
AUTHORITIES WORKING TOGETHER
Chelan County authorities say they're helping the Kittitas County Sheriff's Office in the search which is straining resources of both departments. And while the search continues in those areas tips about the fugitive wanted for three counts of kidnapping and first-degree murder have been pouring in from all over the Pacific Northwest and the U.S.
CAN YOU HELP?
A tipline has been established for citizens to use in the event its believed Decker is spotted or to provide any other information which might lead to his current whereabouts.
The phone number to provide tips is 509-667-6845.
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $20,000 reward for information that leads directly to the apprehension of Decker.
