An immigration forum is set for next Tuesday at St. Joseph Parish in Yakima to talk about the current immigration situation in America and what services are available to local families. The event is set for 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the parish located at 212 North Fourth Street in Yakima.
A number of local and state officials are expected to attend including the city mayor and police chief, Yakima bishop Joseph Tyson, Laura Contreras, Northwest Immigrant Rights Project and others.
The event follows a statement issued by Washington state’s Catholic bishops calling for comprehensive immigration reform.
