SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. (AP) — Human remains have been found near Snoqualmie Pass in an area where a back-country skier went missing in December.

The King County Sheriff's office has turned the body over to the King County medical examiner's office to be positively identified. Friends of the shier who went missing found the remains near Kendall Peak, just north of the Snoqualmie Pass ski area.

Sgt. Jason Houck says the remains were in an area where their friend was believed to have been headed the day he went missing. The group had been in the area specifically to look for their missing friend.
