It's hot and dry and forest officials are doing everything they can to prevent a big forest fire. Mathew Maki with the Naches Ranger District says campfire restrictions are now in place on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Maki says campfires are now only allowed in designated campgrounds with hosts or designated wilderness areas. "It was a wet winter and a lot of the grass and shrubbery has grown and now it's drying out. We're just trying to prevent that from burning up out here." Forest officials say they're hoping they don't have any big forest fires this year.
