High Winds Force Closure of White Pass Ski Area Wednesday
A big storm slamming the Washington Cascades with wind, rain and snow has forced the closure of the White Pass Ski area Wednesday. General Manager Kevin McCarthy says they've seen 100 mph winds in the upper elevations for more than 6 hours. A lot of snow and ice has accumulated on chairlift cables making operations difficult.
As a result the area is closed Wednesday and set to reopen on Thursday.
If you purchased a ticket for Wednesday information will at skiwhitepass.com by Noon to let you know about your reservation.
