Help Available for Depression and Addiction

Depression and addiction are two of the factors that many experts say lead to the death of comedian Robin Williams.

Executive Director Scott Munson of Sundown M Ranch Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Yakima says many times drug and alcohol problems are covers for depression.

Often times people that are suffering from addiction their lives are in turmoil and in crisis and will be depressed as a result of that.

Munson says addiction and depression are separate disorders and must be treated separately.

Sundown treats more than a thousand people every year and many find help with depression after being treated for addiction.

Munson says if you are hurting seek help today because both conditions are fully treatable. Williams battle ended Monday when he took his own life.
