President Biden said if all went well with the pandemic, maybe we could spend the Fourth of July together with loved ones. Well here we are, heading into the the Fourth of July Weekend with the State and Nation opened up based on vaccinations being up and new cases of COVID being down and all our loved one (cuz we love everybody) about to gather at State Fair Park for a celebration and a make-good all rolled into one!
Kathy Kramer is the President and CEO of the Central Washington State Fair and she stopped by the KIT studios today (7-1-21) to talk about, what this year will be, a three day event.
The fun starts Friday at 4pm with a carnival at the fair grounds featuring food, fun, rides and games. That winning formula will be repeated on Saturday with the grand celebration taking place on Sunday starting at noon. No charge to get in and no charge to park.
Sunday also features the carnival rides, a kids zone with some unique water features to cool off the kids, a beer garden to cool off the biggest kids and more!
One of the events in recent years that has drawn a lot of interest is the Apple Jam local music competition. Past winners will perform for the fans starting at 5pm.
The city has made three park and ride locations and busses available so you don't have to deal with traffic and the culmination of the celebration starts at 10 pm with the biggest fireworks show around.
