CYBERSPACE (AP) — If you've ever received a computer in a box with a spotted-cow design, you'll want to remember the name Mike Hammond. The man who co-founded Gateway has died. Hammond started Gateway with brothers Ted and Norm Waitt and selling PCs direct to customers in those distinctive boxes helped make Gateway one of the top computers on the market back in the day. Hammond died last week at his home in Sioux City, Iowa at 53.
