Garfield Elementary School Needs Your Help in Getting Updated Playground Equipment
Garfield Elementary School is in need of a new playground and it's for a great cause in honor of someone beloved by those who knew them.
Chris Reid, Garfield's math teacher and librarian, unfortunately, passed away from ovarian cancer.
This GoFundMe, approved by the principal, will build funds towards a new playground in Chris' honor.

Chris passed away on Tuesday, September 6th 2022, after battling ovarian cancer for two years. As with all things in her life, Chris faced the entire process with grace, dignity, and a loving spirit.
It was her loving spirit that drove Chris to dedicate her career to bettering the lives of children, first as a math teacher and then as an elementary school librarian. She was also a champion to those in need and loved to get behind and contribute to a good cause.
Money from the GoFundMe would fund a free-standing canopy to provide shade to the playground, benches and even sports equipment to be used during recess.
