If you went to last year's Fresh Hop Ale Fest you had a good time and you contributed to some pretty great organizations and their projects.

In a news release City Economic Director Sean Hawkins says the Fresh Hop Group will present over $100,000 in Grant Awards to 19 Yakima
County Arts and Science Organizations.

“We’re very excited to keep hosting one of the best beer festivals in the country and ensuring
the proceeds assist Yakima area arts and science organizations,” said Fresh Hop Group Vice
President Karl Vanevenhoven.

The awards went to the following organizations: South Central Washington STEM Network,
Wenas Mammoth Foundation, Mountain View Elementary, Union Gospel Mission / Madison
House, Yakima Folklife Festival, Utility Box Wrap Program by the Yakima Arts Commission,
Yakima Music en Acción (YAMA), Latino Film Festival hosted by Yakima-Moreila Sister City
Association, Selah Intermediate School, Artist is Residence Program by Yakima Makers Space,
The Seasons Yakima, Selah Education Foundation, Yakima Symphony Orchestra, The Capitol
Theatre’s Capitol Kids Program, Yakima Aero Club, Sagebrush Film Festival, Chalk Art Festival
hosted by Downtown Association of Yakima, Yakima Schools Foundation and Yakima Valley
Museum.

The 16th Annual Fresh Hop Ale Festival will take place on Saturday, September 29th, 2018.
