Flood Help On The Way For Ahtanum Creek

Residents who live along Ahtanum Creek near South 41st and 42nd Avenues and in the Emma Lane area are invited to attend the second public meeting regarding the Ahtanum Creek Flood Hazard Mitigation Grant Program on Wednesday, January 9th from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the West Valley Junior High Auditorium.

According to County officials, residents will have the opportunity to review additional flood mapping and impacts to residential structures adjacent to Ahtanum Creek from South 37th Avenue downstream, as requested by participants at the first public meeting on November 14, 2012. Yakima County has completed the additional flood mapping and will present the results, FEMA-required timelines, as well as possible alternatives.
