Fatal Crash Near Sunnyside Sunday

One person died and five others injured in a crash near Sunnyside on Sunday.
Yakima County Sheriff's officials say in a news release the crash was reported at about 11:30 a.m.. Deputies say a driver was southbound on Scoon Road when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Scoon and Independence Roads crashing into a truck. Three other people in the vehicle, including two children were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.  The two others in the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital for evaluation of injuries.
The Yakima County Coroner’s Office continues an investigation Today.
