The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) has announced their Academic State Champions for the 2017-18 fall sports season and the East Valley Girls Swim Team topped the 2A class.

The eight-member team, coached by Rainan Viernes, had an average GPA of an astounding 3.932.

The WIAA program recognizes the team with the highest grade point average among all Washington high schools in their enrollment classification.

The Academic State Champions for fall included: Cross Country, Football, 1B/2B Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Girls Swimming & Diving and Volleyball.

The Lady Red Devils will be presented with a special plaque at the upcoming State Championships.
