The updated Dietary Guidelines for Americans has been released. The guidelines, according to USDA, encourage Americans to adopt a series of science-based recommendations to improve how they eat to reduce obesity and prevent chronic diseases. The guidelines suggest Americans should consume fruits, grains, fat-free or low-fat dairy, protein foods, including lean meats, poultry and eggs and oils such as corn, olive and peanut. The guidelines encourage less than 10 percent of calories per day from added sugars, less than 10 percent of calories per day from saturated fats and less than 2,300 milligrams per day of sodium for people over the age of 14 years and less for those younger.

Imidacloprid is an insecticide that was made to mimic nicotine, which is toxic to insects. Bayer, which makes imidacloprid, slammed the EPA report.
