Although daycare for children has been around for years and years, the concept of "doggy daycare" is a relatively new concept. Some pet owners who have limited space at home can't leave their pet unattended during work hours or don't want to leave them confined, only to have to dash home to give pets a bathroom break.

Yakima's Debbie Seaward Raney is using the "doggy daycare" concept  at her Little Paws Playhouse.

Her business's website states:

Little Paws Playhouse is here to provide your dog and cat a daycare and boarding experience unlike the traditional kennels of the past.  Our goal is to provide your pet with an enjoyable and stress free vacation while you are away.  All of our dogs participate in supervised daycare and will quickly make friends with other dogs that are similar in size and/or temperament.  After spending a day playing and interacting with friends, a private comfortable kennel with a soft bed awaits them at night.

Little Paws Playhouse also offers cat services as well.

Debbie was a guest on Monday's Mike Bastinelli Show, the first in series of guests this week about entrepreneures in Yakima who started unique businesses.  She talked about how her business is succeeding in the multi billion dollar American pet industry.
