The Most Dangerous Candy That Could Cost $500 on Halloween 2023
It's the Halloween season, time to celebrate everything that kids love, including pumpkins, costumes and, of course, candy. Kids will fill bags with all kinds of different candy from chocolate and peanut butter treats to sour gummy candy.
SOME CANDY YOUR KIDS EAT CAN COST YOU PARENTS MONEY
It all tastes great, but remember all that candy can be damaging to teeth. A new study from Shiny Smile Veneers looked at which of candy causes the most damage and is the most costly to fix. They surveyed 1,002 Americans asking them which candy impacted their dental health the most, and the answer is.....Jawbreakers.
JAWBREAKERS ARE JUST THAT BREAKERS...AND THEY'RE NUMBER ONE IN DAMAGING TEETH
Jawbreakers considered the most dangerous candy to eat in Washington and in the United States.
The study reports that Americans "have spent $538.28, on average, fixing their teeth after a dental accident caused by candy."
JAWBREAKERS MAY BE NUMBER ONE, BUT OTHER CANDY IS ALSO DAMAGING TO TEETH
The survey results also revealed that other candies that were the most damaging to teeth included Jolly Ranchers and Bit-O-Honey. What teeth problems? Teeth sensitivity, tooth pain, and damaged fillings/crowns were the top dental issues according to the study.
WILL YOU BE HANDING OUT CANDY THIS HALLOWEEN?
Americans spend an average of $30 or more to buy candy to hand out during Halloween. The Shiny Smile Veneers survey also found that "over a third of Americans say they’ve had candy-related accidents." Check out the survey here.
