Coffee with a Cop Returns Sunday at Yakima Farmer’s Market
Remember coffee with a cop? It's back on Sunday at the Downtown Yakima Farmer's Market. Yakima Police say they'll have a booth at the market this Sunday and urge you to stop by and say hello.

COFFEE AND COP VEHICLES
You are welcome to have some coffee with a cop and talk with the Chief Shawn Boyle. Officers will have vehicles on display for the kids to check out. The market in the Rotary Marketplace downtown operates from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Coffee with a Cop has been happening in Yakima since at least 2018 when weekly meetings were held.
IT ALL STARTED IN CALIFORNIA
The actual Coffee with a Cop Day 2025 will be celebrated this year on October 2nd.
Since it started in 2011 in California Coffee with a Cop meetings or events have helped to build trust and create a sense of community in cities and counties all around the country. It's simply a way police and residents can connect over a cup of coffee. It's growing every year, well beyond from where it began in a McDonald's in Hawthorne, California. It's now held in all 50 states as well as events in 33 nations and 9 languages. Since the first national Coffee with a Cop day in 2016 the idea has grown every year making it a huge event across the nation.
