The Yakima City Council is holding a retreat tomorrow to talk about the hiring of a new Yakima City Manager after the planned retirement of Dick Zais this summer. Mayor Micah Cawley says with the threat of the strong mayor issue being back on the ballot in November the contract for the new city manager will have to contain a buyout clause in case a change of government is approved by voters. Cawley says the council must move forward and not "live in fear of a strong mayor petition". The retreat is being held at the Yakima Convention Center from 2 to 7pm.
