City Leaders Talking About Yakima’s Future
The Yakima City Council has called a special meeting for January 12 at city hall to talk about the future of the city and review the 2018-2020 Strategic Plan. The meeting will give city council members a chance to review a list of priorities including downtown development, community policing, development at the former mill site and the proposed east side pool.
The plan calls for specific action to improve life and business in the city including partnering with private, public, and non-profit organizations in creating more downtown Yakima events and activities that city officials say would enhance community and downtown engagement, inclusion, and pride.
Creating a Yakima Cleanup and Revitalization Effort (CARE) community partnership with faith-based organizations, service clubs, and neighborhood associations to improve Yakima’s appearance and vitality.
The special meeting to talk about the plan is set for 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. January 12 at Yakima City Hall.
