Children’s Village Awarded Big Grant Money To Help Kids
Children’s Village, Yakima’s center for children with special health care needs and their families, is one of two local health-care entities to be awarded grants totaling $1.2 million from the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy. The two Rural Health Care Services Outreach grants are for projects in Yakima County.
Yakima County was the only county in the nation to be awarded two grants.
The grant for Children’s Village will fund expansion of care coordination and patient navigation services for children with special health-care needs in the Lower Yakima Valley.
The second grant, for a Nutrition/Physical Activity Program, will fund expansion of nutrition/physical activity services for children at risk for or who are either overweight or obese in the Lower Yakima Valley.
