When it comes to the catalog of our lives, the toy section is probably one of the biggest. What was your favorite toy?
The phrase goes; "The only difference between men and boys is the size of their toys." That probably rings true for most of us men (and women).
Somebody asked me the other day what my favorite childhood toy was. I started to make a list in my mind. Was it my Mattel Fanner 50 Sixgun? My Daisy BB gun complete with scope? My Kenner Movie Show Projector? No, none of those.
My favorite toy of all time was the Remco Dial Master Telephone set. They actually worked!
My Dad hooked it up for me and even drilled holes in the walls to string the wires from my bedroom into the kitchen, so I could call my Mom. It was a ritual for a while for me to ring her up and tell her what I wanted for breakfast. Pretty big stuff in 1960 when you're five years old!
