Yakima's celebration of Black History Month is scheduled for 6:00 pm this Saturday, February 8th at the Greater Faith Baptist Church.  Organizers say as part of the program, Yakima notables Mz. Dee, Evelyn Malone and Ester Huey will portray African Americans who helped shape our country.

The program will feature the music of Jazz/Gospel singer Josephine Howell from Seattle, along with special guest speaker Jordan Jerome Harrison. Jordan Harrison is a professional motivational speaker, educator and  social entrepreneur from California.

If you are interested in being a part of a community choir to sing with Josephine, you are welcome to attend a mass choir rehearsal at Greater Faith on February 8th from 1pm -3pm.
