Yakima’s Beer Scene Recognized: Third Place in National Best Beer Cities Contest
Even though most people who live in Yakima consider this the number one Beer City in America Yakima has come in third place in a best beer city contest.
MICHIGAN FINSHED IN FIRST
Yakima has been selected as the Third Best Beer City in USA TODAY’S 2026 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards. Instead of Yakima, Grand Rapids, Michigan has taken the top title as the best beer city. Each year the awards are decided by public voting of some 20 cities that are selected by a panel of beer experts and writers. Oddly 2026 was the first time Yakima has been nominated in the beer category.
WE ALL KNOW YAKIMA IS NUMBER 1
Adam Stewart, Communications and Travel Trade Manager of Yakima Valley Tourism says they're thrilled to be recognized this year and "while we didn’t claim the top spot this year, ranking third out of twenty beer cities is a tremendous honor. It’s where the journey from hop farms to local breweries create true farm-to-glass beers you can only experience in the here.”
