Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says he's seeing some of the strongest ballot returns he's seen in years for the upcoming general election on November 3. Ross describes it as "extremely unusually high activity."

He says in 2016 two weeks from the election Yakima County voters had returned 2,960 ballots. Today the number is 12,155 ballots returned.
Ross says he expects a big turnout for the election upwards of 80% to 85%.
He says the Auditors Office is concerned about the security of drop boxes located throughout the county. Ross urges everyone to watch the boxes and report anything unusual to the Yakima County Elections office at 574-1340.
