Another controversial immigration measure in Arizona has hit a procedural bump for the time being. A vote on a bill that would challenge the automatic U-S citizenship for children of illegal immigrants was postponed yesterday when the bill's sponsor realized he didn't have enough votes to get it out of committee.

Republican State Sen RON GOULD insists the bill is not dead. The bill's ultimate goal is to get a legal re-examination of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, and force a court to rule that a child born in the U-S is a citizen only if either parent is a U-S citizen or a legal immigrant.
