**Autumn Glory® apple shipments were up in November, and recent Nielsen data confirms impressive November sales.

According to thepacker.com, Autumn Glory, by Domex Superfresh Growers, placed in the top 20 not only nationally, but in all nine Nielsen regions.

Nielsen data for four weeks ending November 28th show Autumn Glory sales were up 88% and volume was up 78% year over year.

Organic Autumn Glory sales were up 559%, and up 575% in volume.

**Farm organizations say they’ll continue efforts to conserve monarch butterfly habitat.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says it will defer for a year adding the monarch to a list of federally protected species.

The agency designated the butterfly as a candidate for protection. The American Farm Bureau says the action gives farmers and other land managers more time to continue conservation and research work to benefit the butterflies.

**During the first wave of the pandemic, rural meatpacking counties had infection rates 10 times higher than rates in other rural counties, according to the USDA.

agriculture.com reports the Covid-19 rate in the 49 U.S. counties that rely on meat plants for jobs remains somewhat higher than the rest of rural America.

The USDA says rural residents, who make up 14% of the U.S. population, accounted for 27% of the Covid-19 deaths nationwide during the final three weeks of October.
