AAA Washington is teaming up with the Yakima Veterans Coalition to provide fresh start for those who are homeless.
It's time for AAA Washington’s annual Soap for Hope donation drive, which collects unused travel- and full-size toiletry items for shelters, food banks and other charitable organizations in the community where they are donated.
From now through the end of the year, AAA will be collecting the items.
Donations can be made at any AAA office in Washington and northern Idaho; In Yakima the office is located at 2301 West Nob Hill Blvd.
AAA’s Yakima office has chosen Yakima Veterans Coalition to be the recipients of their donations.
A news release says "as a result of the generosity of AAA members, the public, local businesses and community partners, AAA Washington has donated more than 1.1 million toiletry items to local charities. Last year, more than 111,000 items were collected. This year, we hope to top that number.

Scan your bathroom cabinets and gather unused toiletries from your last vacation, freebies from the dentist’s office or a few extra items from a bulk warehouse purchase. Donations of new, full- and sample-size toiletry items, such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, razors, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes and feminine products, are accepted at all AAA stores in Washington and northern Idaho."
