The White Pass Scenic Byway - which runs from Naches over towards Chehalis - is about to be bookended with new signage. The 124 mile route on Highway 12 has been designated a National Byway for the past several years. But, you may not know it. Drivers will now get a reminder through a new project. 12-foot tall monument type structures will be erected out of stone and wood. One will be near the Oak Creek Wildlife area. There are nine smaller community signs also going up. They’re being placed on state property and the effort is funded by the feds.

The new signs should be up sometime next month.
