A Lack of Officers means Less Speeding Tickets in 2010

Everyone hates to get a speeding ticket. Yakima Police issued 12 thousand speeding tickets last year. That's a lot but it's fewer than the year before. In fact that's 2 thousand less than 2009. Police say it's not because people are slowing down. Authorities say it's because of budget cuts and staff shortages that have officers focusing on other crimes like gang violence.
