50 to 100 vehicles crashed on I-90 west of Spokane on Tuesday afternoon after heavy snow fell in the area at about 1:00 p.m. No major injuries were reported. Troopers say conditions changed fast and drivers didn't slow down for the conditions. They say one crash started a series of crashes. The roadway was reduced to one lane but all lanes were re-opened at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Five people were admitted to a hospital in Spokane with minor injuries. Yakima resident Carrie O'Hara-Gutierrez was driving to Yakima Tuesday afternoon when she saw the crash and was able to slow down and avoid any problems. She says it was a scary situation. She says her vehicle slid but she was able to avoid a collision.
