Can you believe half of the year has flown by and now it's time to once again celebrate America's independence from Great Britain?

A tradition that's been going on in the USA since 1776 will continue here in Yakima on Thursday, July 4th at State Fair Park. Carnival rides begin at noon that day, with entertainment in between to lead up to a fireworks show at night. See all the details below.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS YEAR'S 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION & CARNIVAL AT STATE FAIR PARK:

PARKING & ADMISSION COST:

It is free to park and attend the 4th of July celebration at State Fair Park. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic foods, and blankets if desired. Please note the list of prohibited items below.

Also note while you're there, you can buy discount admission tickets to the upcoming Central WA State Fair (September 20th-29th) for just $9 each.*

PROHIBITED ITEMS:

Weapons, drones, illegal drugs, fireworks, skateboards, pets other than designated service animals, outside alcohol and BBQs.

CARNIVAL RIDES

You can buy "Ride All Day" and individual carnival wrist bands.

Carnival hours:

Thursday, July 4th: Noon to 11 p.m.

Friday, July 5th, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday, July 6th, Noon to 10 p.m.

KIDS ZONE

FREE face painting, water features, games, and a foam pit starting at 2 p.m.

FOOD VENDORS

On the 4th of July, there will be 12 food vendors on site from noon to 10 p.m.

GAMES FOR THE GROWNUPS

Adults can enjoy corn hole, ring toss game, tabletop tic-tac-toe, and giant Jenga games in the BEER GARDEN starting at 4 p.m.

LIVE MUSIC LINEUP STARTING AT 4 P.M.

• Aphrodisi-Yaks (Classic Rock): 4pm-5pm
• XYZ & the Boomers (Classic Rock, Hits, and Country): 5:30pm-6:30pm
• Banda La Palmera (Latino): 7pm-8pm
• Genevieve (Country Rock): 8:30pm-9:30pm

• Isarely Flores (a cappella National Anthem): 9:55pm
