A bunch of hard working volunteers who love trolleys are excited about the future of the Yakima Valley Trolleys, the last remaining interurban trolleys in the United States located at the corner of S. 3rd Avenue and W. Pine Street.  Spokesperson Joan Walsh says they have a series of events planned this year to help raise awareness and funds to keep the trolleys rolling in Yakima.
All the events will be held at the Trolley Powerhouse Museum and the first is this weekend. A car and bike show along with trolley rides and food is set for Saturday from 9:00 a.m.  to 3:00 p.m. A Mr. Rogers be my neighbor celebration is set for August 15 and the major gala grand re-opening celebration is set for August 25. For more information and tickets check out the website yakimavalleytrolleys.org or call them at 248-1750.
