ShakeOut Earthquake Drill Next Week

A news release from the Washington National  Guard - Emergency Management Division encourages us to set our watches and hold on to our hats for 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, October 19^th.  That’s zero hour for the fourth annual Great Washington ShakeOut drill, part of Gov. Jay Inslee declaration of October as Disaster Preparedness Month.

At that time more than 1 million Washington residents will practice their earthquake readiness activities.  You or your organization can sign up to participate at www.shakeout.org/washington.

Many of the participants are kids with more than 700,000 students, teachers and school staff signing up for the ShakeOut event.
