1 Dead, 1 Injured in South Seattle Shooting
SEATTLE (AP) — Police say one person has died and another person has non-life threatening injuries in a shooting in South Seattle.
Seattle Police spokesman Patrick Michaud says officers responded after 911 calls reporting shots fired just after 6 p.m. Wednesday on the 2300 block of Rainier Avenue.
Michaud says officers found a young woman inside a vehicle who died at the scene. Detectives believe the vehicle was targeted in the shooting.
Officers also found a man inside a nearby bakery was had been shot. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center. Police say he doesn't appear to have been associated with the vehicle.
Police are investigating the incident and another shots fired call farther south on Rainier Avenue near South Genesee Street. No victims were located there, but police found shell casings in the area.
