Interested potential students can learn more about the program at a Nov. 7 open house.

Yakima Valley Community College is announcin a new degree opportunity in their engineering department. Interested students will be able to pursue an associate of applied science degree in aerospace machining technology. At the open house on November 7, participants will have the opportunity to tour the machining technology lab, meet with instructors, learn about careers available in the industry, and register for classes. The event will take place from 10:00am-2:00pm on YVCC’s Yakima Campus in the Skills Center Room W212.

YVCC’s degree and certificates prepare students for entry-level positions in the manufacturing industry. Students learn the skills required to plan and carry out the operations needed to make aerospace machined products that meet precise specifications. Course instruction covers blueprint reading, manual machining, computerized machining, metrology, quality control, engineering drawing, and more.
