Yakima Yard Waste Collection Starts Monday, March 2
It's feeling like spring outside and if you're doing some yard work yard waste collection in the City of Yakima starts Monday, March 2. The Service happens from March 2 through November 30. A news release from the city says there is a charge for the service, which is limited to collecting grass clippings, leaves, and small branches. Branches should be cut into lengths of 3 feet or less and not exceed 3 inches in diameter. All yard waste must fit inside the cart with the lid closed.
Watch what you put in the container because you can't place garbage, plastic bags, food scraps, animal waste, ashes and sod, building materials, and tree trunks or large branches in the container.
The items are not acceptable by the Yakima County landfill as yard waste. They are considered contaminants.
