Veterans Day 2025 is right around the corner and you're being invited to be a part of the annual parade in downtown Yakima.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11

The parade, sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars - Post 379 happens on Veterans Day November 11 starting at 10:45 am. The parade, which starts at Naches Avenue will travel west on Yakima Avenue to 6th Avenue. The parade will end about a half-block east of the VFW - Post 379 building, located at 118 S. 5th Avenue. The parade is expected to end at 12:30 p.m. 750 people and 50 vehicles are expected to be involved in the parade.

APPLY TODAY TO BE PART OF THE PARADE

If you or your organization would like to be a part of the parade get an application and more information here. VFW officials say all motorized units are required to carry liability insurance and all animal units require a clean-up crew. There are no political statements or signs allowed.

KIDS IN THE PARADE

They say as always all youth participating in the parade will be treated to hot dogs and soda pop behind the VFW post immediately after the parade.

WATCH WHERE YOU PARK

According to a news release from the city no parking will be allowed on Yakima Avenue between 6th Street and 6th Avenue from 8:45 am on November 11th until the parade is completed. Cars parked along that portion of Yakima Avenue during that time will be subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.
Yakima Avenue will be closed to motorized traffic from 6th Avenue to 6th Street. Naches Avenue will be closed from Yakima Avenue to Walnut Street.
