Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic is waiting for a final investigative report from the Yakima Police Department on Sunday's home invasion on South 64th Avenue in which two suspects died. Brusic says he's been in close contact with detectives and has followed the investigation. Brusic tells KIT News. "Based upon the nature of these facts I'm going to directly review this case when it gets submitted to our office and that's likely to happen within the next 48 hours or so."
And Brusic says when he receives the information he plans to release his decision as soon as possible.
Brusic says police will not recommend any charges against the three family members who police say were attacked by the two suspects after they forced their way inside the home in the 1900 block of South 64th Avenue early Sunday morning. Police believe the motive was robbery and that once inside the home the two suspects were stabbed to death by family members trying to defend themselves.
