Yakima Police Searching For Suspects In City Murder
Yakima Police detectives have been busy this weekend investigating the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old man who was found dead in his car at Sarg Hubbard Park Friday afternoon. It's the department's first homicide reported so far this new year. Authorities identify the victim as Francisco Tinajero of Schwana Washington in Grant County.
Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says officers were called to the area for a report of shots fired at about 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Walmart Parking lot in the 1600 block of east Chestnut Avenue. Nothing was found in the parking lot but the body was found in the car in the nearby Sarg Hubbard Park. Today Detectives continue searching for a suspect...a car believed to be involved in the shooting was stopped by officers on Friday but no arrests were made in connection to the homicide.
