Americorps members at the Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic have received a National award for service to the community.

Americorps Coordinator Rosa Ortiz says Americorps members who work in the Community Healthcorps at the farmworkers clinic help residents in a variety of ways.

Americorps members in the Community Healthcorps have been awarded the Daily Point of Light award for their service to the community. The award is given to individuals who contribute to their communities through volunteerism, making an impact and working to address their community’s needs.

The National Point of Light award is given every year by former President George H.W. Bush.
