Yakima Hotels Reach Maxed Out Capacity During Tournament Weekend
Yakima Hotels and Airbnbs Nearing Maxed Out Capacity During Tournament Weekend
Someone told me that all of the hotels in Yakima are booked for Friday, May 27th. That is wild because I don't really ever think about hotels, let alone them being sold out!
It seems exciting to me that the city of Yakima is finally back to booming with tourists. Ever since the COVID pandemic tanked the tourism industry for those past 2 grueling years, the Yakima Valley has been anxious to get back into the swing of things and entertaining gobs of people coming in for conventions and sports tournaments.
MAY 27-MAY 28, 2022 : WASHINGTON INTERSCHOLATIC ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION STATE SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS IN YAKIMA
There are a few softball tournaments for the Washington Interscholatic Activities Association at County Stadium, Gateway Sportsplex, and the Yakima Tennis Club. There is also a tennis tournament happening in Yakima during the same weekend, not to mention many will be traveling into town for Memorial Day Weekend celebrations with their Yakima Valley family and friends. This is why all of the hotels are reportedly booked solid.

No Hotels Available? Try to book an Airbnb Instead
No doubt, many families have booked some Airbnbs. I just checked and even Airbnb Yakima is saying that there aren't many places left to rent for the weekend of May 27th through May 29th. Some local Yakimaniacs are renting out single rooms in their homes for upwards of $60 a night--and that's just for a tiny bedroom! You might be able to find a RV camper to stay in and there are even some entire homes still available. Those will run you close to $200 plus cleaning fees.
