The Yakima County Jail was super busy this weekend with the Yakima Police Department and Yakima County Sheriff’s Office departments fighting crime and arresting people for all sorts of unlawful stuff. The criminal offenses that got nearly 30 folks locked up this weekend ran the gamut of everything from driving without license misdemeanors to the most bizarre violations like getting caught possessing drugs while locked up IN JAIL, which happens to be a felony.

HOW MANY PEOPLE GOT ARRESTED THIS PAST WEEKEND?

29 people were arrested and booked into the Yakima County Jail for the weekend of September 17th-19th.

“(4)(a) Law enforcement may use booking photographs of a person arrested or confined in a local or state penal institution to assist them in conducting investigations of crimes.” - Washington State Law RCW 70.48.100

“Most other inmate jail records (including booking photos) are confidential and are exempt from public disclosure (RCW 70.48.100).”

  • Fugitive from Justice (they had an active arrest warrant in another county)
  • Harassment
  • Hit and Run
  • Malicious Mischief
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Reckless burning
  • Residential Burglary
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Shoplifting
  • Theft
  • Theft of a vehicle
  • Unlawful Imprisonment
  • Unlawful possession of firearms
  • Violations of No-Contact Orders
