A popular area of Summitview Avenue will be closed Sunday night for some road work. Yakima City officials say city crews will be busy with water line work resulting in the overnight closure of Summitview Avenue between 40th Avenue and 39th Avenue starting Sunday, January, 29th through Thursday, February 2.

If you drive Summitview during the day you won't be impacted

City officials say Summitview Avenue closure will be in effect during project work hours that begin each night at around 8:00 pm and last until 6:00 am. A press release from the city of Yakima says due to heavy traffic volumes on Summitview Avenue, drivers can expect delays. Drivers should need use alternate routes if possible until the work is completed. Detours around the construction site will be available.

It's a busy road but not so much during the evening

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.
