Yakima City Council To Talk About Virtual Voting
The Yakima City Council meets at city hall Tuesday where it's expected to hear final reports from exploratory committees. The Community Integration Committee and Ethics and Equal Rights Committee. The two committees formed a year ago were designed to find ways to get people more involved in local government, find ways to bring more people together and address areas of the city where people may not have equal rights.
The council on Tuesday is also expected to vote on an ordinance in which council members could vote even though they're not physically present at a meeting, possibly out of town or home sick. Other cities in the state allow virtual participation by council members including nearby Union Gap.
