A decision to increase the cost of car tabs to pay for Yakima city street repairs won’t be on the ballot this year. The question is instead expected to appear later this year on a questionnaire about city operations.

This  is not the case in the lower valley, where so far the price of car tabs has increased in Grandview, Prosser, Zillah and Mabton, and possibly next in the city of Wapato.

The Wapato City Council is expected to vote on the issue Monday night, which would raise the cost of car tabs by twenty dollars.
