Calling all beer lovers it's time to vote for the Best Beer City and Yakima has been nominated. Officials at Yakima Valley Tourism are encouraging everyone to start voting for Yakima after it was nominated in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Beer City.

YAKIMA'S BEER CULTURE IS WINNING

Tourism officials say the nomination recognizes the valley’s deep-rooted brewing heritage, hop production, and craft beer culture.
You know what the beer experts say about Yakima and beer? They say Yakima is in the heart of hop country (producing over 75% of the nation's crop), and that the region has a deep-rooted beer culture, featuring the Yakima Valley Craft Beer Trail and the historic Fresh Hop Ale Festival.

YAKIMA IN THE HEART OF HOP COUNTRY

“Yakima and the Yakima Valley are the heart of hop country and the soul of great beer, right in the middle of where most of the nation’s hops are grown,” says John Cooper, President & CEO of Yakima Valley Tourism. “A visit to Yakima is to taste beer at its source and to meet the growers and brewers crafting amazing beverages.”

YOU CAN VOTE EVERY DAY UNTIL FEBRUARY 23

You can vote every day through Monday, February 23 at 9:00 am. You can vote daily on devices like cell phones, laptops and computers. Yakima Valley Tourism officials are encouraging residents, friends and travelers to vote daily to spread the word. There's a lot of vote for because some 20 different breweries are located in the Yakima valley with Bale Breaker Brewing Company located in the heart of the hop fields on Birchfield Road. Vote now and vote often.
